What goes into it
What moves the number.
The worth of a case hinges on multiple elements, including the extent of damages, liability, and the strength of evidence.
Liability
Your share of the fault
Pick a share and see what each state’s rule does with it. Percentages only.
Percent of the proven damages the rule leaves in place. This does not say what your share is.
California. There is no cutoff: you can recover something even if you were mostly at fault. Li v. Yellow Cab Co. (1975) 13 Cal.3d 804
The rules, with their sources
California. California reduces your damages by your percentage of responsibility. There is no cutoff: you can recover something even if you were mostly at fault. Li v. Yellow Cab Co. (1975) 13 Cal.3d 804; CACI No. 405
Texas. Texas reduces your damages by your percentage of responsibility. If you are found more than 50 percent responsible, you recover nothing. Tex. Civ. Prac. & Rem. Code §§ 33.001, 33.012
Washington. Your share of fault reduces your damages by that percentage but does not bar your claim. One exception: an injured person who was under the influence can be barred entirely if that was a cause of the injury and they were more than 50 percent at fault. RCW 4.22.005; RCW 5.40.060

The clock
The deadline to sue
General deadline to sue for an injury, in years.
Six months, not two years, when a public entity is involved. A crash with a city bus or a fall on public property requires a written claim to the public entity within six months. Cal. Gov. Code § 911.2
The rules, with their sources
California. Generally two years for an injury caused by someone else’s wrongful act or carelessness. Cal. Code Civ. Proc. § 335.1
Texas. Two years from the day the claim arises. For most crashes and falls that is the day of the injury. Tex. Civ. Prac. & Rem. Code § 16.003(a)
Washington. Three years for most injury claims. RCW 4.16.080(2)

The phone gets answered. Any hour.
Call (800) 300-0001 at three in the afternoon or three in the morning. Our SI phone agent answers, takes down what happened and gets it to the legal team. In the day it can put you through to the intake team.
Send your answers and we call you.
Our SI phone agent, the firm’s automated assistant, places the first call. Calls may be recorded.
Your facts, in order.
Software reads every new intake, puts the facts in order and flags what matters. Then a person on the legal team takes it from there.
Lawyers do the lawyering.
Judgment, strategy and every legal decision belong to a licensed attorney. The software does not decide anything about your case.
Before you start
Straight answers.
Will I get a dollar figure?
After you send your answers, the next page shows a rough range when your answers fit one. It is arithmetic on the medical bills and injuries you entered, not an evaluation of your claim and not a promise of any result. We will call to discuss your case.
Does it cost anything?
No. The case review is free.
Does sending my answers make you my lawyer?
No. Submitting this form does not create an attorney client relationship, and nothing on this website is legal advice.
Who will call me?
